The Blendtec 40-609-61 FOURSIDE-S blender jar can hold 2 quarts or 75 ounces at most, but on the outside of the jar, markings up to 32 ounces help you easily measure out ingredients. The square shape of the jar creates more friction when blending, making your mixtures smoother. The 3-inch, tuned wingtip blade is thicker and stronger than other blades. The black and clear jar are made of BPA-free co-polyester that resists breaking. The Blendtec 40-609-61 FOURSIDE-S blender jar is compatible with all Blendtec blenders and should only be used in a sound enclosure.

I needed to replace the jar because the previous jar supplied with the blender was damaged when I accidentally left part of a plum stone in the food to be blended. It bent the spindle that the blade is mounted on. The new jar is identical with the old except that the design of the black flexible lid had changed. The new lid was flimsy and did not fit tightly to the rim of the jar; it leaked liquid onto the countertop when the blender was in operation. I threw out the new lid and am now using the old lid which works much better.
